Cookie Policy
Every cookie and storage key this site uses, what each one is for, and how to change your mind at any time.

Nothing is set until you choose
This site loads Google Tag Manager, and it runs in Google Consent Mode v2. Before the container loads, the page declares every tracking signal — analytics storage, ad storage, ad user data and ad personalisation — as denied. That default is inline in the page, so it applies from the first byte, not after a script finishes loading.
Until you press Accept all, no analytics or advertising identifier is written. If you press Reject non-essential, the denied state simply stays as it is.
What we store
Strictly necessary
These are needed for the site to work and are not optional. Both live in your browser's local storage, not in a cookie, and neither is ever sent to us.
| Key | Purpose | Lifetime |
|---|---|---|
bud-consent | Records the choice you made on the cookie banner, so you are not asked again on every page. | Until you clear site data or change your choice |
bud-topology | Remembers which deployment topology you selected — on-prem, hybrid, cloud, sovereign or air-gapped — so pages show the variant you picked. | Until you clear site data |
Analytics — only after you accept
If you accept, Google Tag Manager (container GTM-T2HN726M) loads Google Analytics 4, which sets the cookies below. They measure which pages are read, which campaigns brought visitors, and where people leave. We use them in aggregate; we do not use them to identify you personally.
| Cookie | Set by | Purpose | Lifetime |
|---|---|---|---|
_ga | Google Analytics | Distinguishes one browser from another so repeat visits are not counted as new people. | 2 years |
_ga_T2HN726M | Google Analytics | Keeps session state for this property. | 2 years |
Analytics data is retained for 14 months, after which Google deletes it. We do not currently run advertising, remarketing or conversion tags. If that changes, this page and the banner will be updated before those tags are allowed to fire.
Embedded video
Video is embedded through youtube-nocookie.com, YouTube's privacy-enhanced mode. Nothing is stored until you actually press play. Once you do, YouTube may set its own storage under its own policy.
Changing your mind
You can change or withdraw your choice at any time — it is as easy to withdraw as it was to give.
That reopens the banner with no choice recorded, so you can pick again. You can also clear this site's data in your browser, which removes both keys above and brings the banner back on your next visit.
Browser controls
Every major browser lets you block or delete cookies and site data for individual sites, and offers a private browsing mode that discards everything when you close the window. Blocking storage entirely will leave the banner appearing on every page, because the choice that suppresses it has nowhere to be saved.
