Bud Ecosystem has joined the Open Platform for Enterprise AI (OPEA), a collaborative initiative advancing open, enterprise-ready generative AI solutions. OPEA was founded in early 2024 by Intel and contributed to the Linux Foundation's LF AI & Data initiative.
The platform launched publicly on April 16, 2024, with partners including Red Hat, Hugging Face, and MariaDB.
An open, composable framework
OPEA currently hosts 26 open-source projects — encompassing microservice-level GenAI components, GenAI examples, enterprise RAG applications, GenAI Studio, and more. The partnership demonstrates aligned commitment to advancing practical, scalable, and secure GenAI technologies through open standards and composable systems.

Bud's contribution
Bud Ecosystem has open-sourced over 20 models and released tools that simplify GenAI adoption, and collaborates with system integrators including Infosys, Accenture, and LTIMindtree.
With Bud joining, OPEA now counts 56 partners — including Intel, AMD, Infosys, NetApp, HuggingFace, MariaDB, Red Hat, ZTE, VMware, and Docker.
Bud plans to contribute intelligent agents, tools, service runtime components, and an advanced inference engine — with optimizations for Gaudi 2 and Intel Xeon processors — alongside custom operating system distributions and application frameworks.
